Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library has an immediate opening for a 26-hour per week parttime Enrichment Clerk with a starting hourly wage of $12 an hour to work primarily at Mt. Logan and Main locations.

Primary Duties:

  • Responsible for prompt and courteous delivery of customer service to library patrons, including checking materials in and out, answering the telephone, shelving, etc.
  • Maintains library spaces to ensure safety and an orderly and attractive experience for library visitors.
  • Assists patrons in the use of technology, including basic computer troubleshooting.
  • Helps patrons locate library materials.
  • Plans and implements library programs.
  • Ability to understand, adhere to, and enforce library policies and procedures.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Some coursework at the post-secondary level desirable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Google Drive, Zoom and other online platforms.
  • Keyboarding/Windows proficiency.
  • Ability to operate library technology systems, including computers, printers, copiers, software programs and other job-related equipment.

Other requirements:

  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel occasionally throughout the county as needed.
  • Evenings and occasional weekends required.

  • Maintain library spaces to ensure safety and an orderly and attractive experience for library visitors.
  • Assist patrons in the use of technology, including basic computer troubleshooting.
  • Help school students and library patrons locate materials.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Volunteering

Volunteers bring energy, enthusiasm, special skills, and a new perspective to the library. The Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library welcomes volunteers and uses them in a support role to supplement the efforts of paid library staff for various special projects and programs.  Your help and your time are greatly appreciated.

It is essential that volunteers make a real commitment to the library, and they are expected to act in accordance with library policies and to reflect positive customer service attitudes to all library patrons.

Volunteers are individuals, 12 years of age or older, who contribute time, energy, and talents directly to or on behalf of the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library and are not paid by library funds.  All volunteers must apply and be accepted by the library prior to performance of library tasks.

We have two volunteer programs at the library:

Adult Volunteers and VolunTeens.
