2027 Contest for Young Poets
Submission Deadline Sunday, March 14, 2027
Winners will be notified by Monday, April 19, 2027
The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library is celebrating National Poetry Month in April! We are inviting K-12 students throughout Ross County to submit one original, unpublished poem anytime between now and Sunday, March 14, 2027.
Selected poems will be published in our annual poetry anthology and some art pieces may be chosen for display at our Northside Branch location.
Judges choose winners from each of the following grade levels:
- K - 2nd grades
- 3rd - 5th grades
- 6th - 8th grades
- 9th - 12th grades
Winners receive a free copy of the anthology, as well as an invitation to read their work at our Poetry Reception on Thursday, April 29 at 5:30pm at the Northside Branch.
Additional copies of the anthology will be available for purchase.
