All libraries are currently open to the public, except the Main Library on Paint Street.

  • A renovation project at the Main Library is underway, therefore that location is closed to the public. Computer appointments at the Main Library have been temporarily halted, but curbside service for materials pick-up is still available. If you need to use a computer, we encourage you to visit any of our other library locations.
  • The Northside Branch Library is now open to the public for browsing and computer use, and that location also continues to maintain safe drive-through window service (materials pickup and printing, including Print from Home service) for high-risk individuals.
  • Our remaining branches (Howard S. Young, Paxton, Kingston, Richmond Dale, South Salem, Mt. Logan, and Huntington) are open to the public for browsing and computer use, and also offer curbside service for those who request it.

Outreach services, including book delivery, are available for homebound individuals.  Call 740-702-4111 to see if you qualify.

Returned items may stay on your account for up to one week while they are being quarantined.  If you have returned books and they are still showing up on your account, this is why. If your account becomes blocked due to an item in quarantine, just call us at 740-702-4145 and we can help.

Face Mask Policy:  To continue serving our community during this difficult time of a worldwide pandemic, the Chillicothe and Ross County Library Board of Trustees has adopted the following temporary safety policy:

MASKS REQUIRED—Library staff have the authority to enforce the wearing of facial coverings while visiting the library.

In accordance with the Patron Code of Conduct, disobeying the direction of a library staff member and/or remaining on library property when requested to leave can result in a suspension of library services.

Concerns about this policy should be directed to the library director.

Thank you for honoring these measures, which are designed to keep our community safe, while allowing access to the library.

Masks will be provided at the door if you need one.

State and county health directives require that you keep at least 6 feet of physical distance between yourself and other patrons and library staff.

Children age 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult to enter the library.

In-person programs and meeting room reservations have been temporarily suspended.
