The heart of a library will always be its books. But, if I were to name the soul of a library it would be the music.
CRCPL wants to help you create the soundtrack for your life. With just your library card you have access to music in a variety of forms:
- hours of commercial-free streaming and customized playlists through Freegal
- and entire albums waiting to be downloaded via hoopla
Now, we want to inspire you to prepare your own beats with the introduction of our instrument lending library housed at the Northside Branch.
The starting collection includes ukuleles, practice drum pads, an electronic keyboard, and a full size acoustic guitar. For our younger musicians we have colorful youth-sized ukuleles, bongos and a tambourine.
No matter your skill level come check out our collection of instruments. All of the instruments are reservable and with generous 28 day checkouts you can take your time and learn at your own pace. Need some instruction? Click over to ArtistWorks, for a free video library with lessons on these instruments and many more!
The instrument lending library is just the beginning of our newly created Beyond Books collection. We hope to create a collection that will encompass all sorts of non-traditional circulating items. We’re always on the hunt for the next great item. What would you like to be able to check out from the library? Let us know!
These (and more) resources are available for free with your library card!
